Today we went to the Haryana office to sign some paperwork before we went to the orphanage. It went absolutly smooth then off we went to the orphanage were we signed more papers. Then they made us wait...then all of a sudden...without a warning they bring Diya in! This totally caught us off guard. She just stood there, serious as can be or should I say scared as she can be. We talked to her and she was ok until I tried to pick her up! she cried. Then we spent the next 2 hours playing with all her friends, we brought dum dums and bubbles and they were a hit! Everybody was all over Dan...except Diya. She probably sensed that something "special" was going on and she wanted nothing to do with it. Later when it was time to get in the car she was still refusing to let us hold her. But she still had to come with us so I got in the car and the auntie just put her in my lap and closed the door! Diya was screaming!!!! she cried and cried until she fell asleep.
Hoy fuimos a la oficina de Haryana a firmar papeles antes de ir al orfanato. Luego nos fuimos al orfanato a firmar mas papeles. Luego nos hicieron esperar y de repente, sin aviso alguno, nos traen a Diya! esto totalmente nos sorpendio. Ella solo se quedo ahi paradita muy seria, o dire muy asustada, le estuvimos hablando y todo estaba bien hasta que intente levantarla... lloro! Luego pasamos las dos siguientes horas jugando con sus amiguitos, trajimos dulces y burbujas y todo fue un exito! todos estaban sobre Dan...excepto Diya. Probalemente ella sospechaba que algo "especial" estaba ocurriendo y ella no queria nada con ello.
mas tarde cuando llego el momento de irnos,.aun no nos dejaba que la abrazaramos. Sin embargo de todas maneras se tenia que ir con nosotros y me subi al carro y la que la cuida me la puso en las piernas y cerro la puerta! Diya lloro y lloro hasta que se quedo domrida.
Congratulations Patricia and Dan. Enjoy the next few days. Seeing the world through Diya's eyes will be a joy. In the days and weeks to come her personality will unfold.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Patricia and Dan. Patricia, I am just so excited for you that you are finally holding your baby girl !!! I can remember when they brought Maliha into that room, and she also looked so scared and timid. The first time I reached out to pick her up her little lip just quivered and my heart sank and when they dropped us off at the hotel I took her hand to walk into the hotel and those little feet were not going to move. But she let me pick her up and within an hour or so she was warming up. By the next morning, she wanted no one else but to be with Walt and me. It was the best feeling in the world !!! If you haven't seen this with Diya yet, it will not be long. And the day that we saw her first smile (and she hasn't stopped smiling since) was the best day ever. Can't wait for you to have all of the special days we have had so far. And just to think that we both have so many more to come. I am praying for you for safe travels and a wonderful trip.
